Serena Rasoul

Founder & Director, Muslim Casting

Serena Rasoul is an Academic and Creative Consultant with a focus on Middle Eastern, North African, and Muslim cultures. She is a PhD Student working on the preservation of Palestinian folklore. Her recent roles include a Fellowship at Harvard Divinity School and a position as a Community Engagement Specialist at the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art.

Additionally, Rasoul is the founder of MA Casting, a casting agency dedicated to representing and advocating for Muslim, Middle Eastern, and North African talent in the television, film, and commercial sectors. In collaboration with the Geena Davis Institute for Gender in Media, MA Casting has published a pioneering on-screen test and study focusing on the depiction of Muslim women in media.
